Digitech JamMan Stereo Looper

As looping pedals go, the digitech jamman series has to be at, or near the top of the heap.

There are other looping pedals that will accomplish what this looper will do, but for the most part, they are usually much bigger, and harder to use.  The Digitech Jamman Stereo Looper was built with the average guitarist in mind, with the ability to take it live on the stage.

With the JamMan, and JamMan Solo paving the way with great sound and looping capabilities in a compact pedal that will fit on your pedal board, Digitech went one step further with the JamMan Stereo.  The JamMan Stereo doesen’t look much different, but the differences are many. Read more »

Zoom G3

Zoom G3 – The Digital Interface

We could discuss the cost of many pedals vs. the equivalent packed into the Zoom G3, but it seems commonplace now.  At one time, manufacturers would jam as many sounds as they could think of into a new multi effects pedal, but half of them (or more), would be crap, and you would never use them again.

Boss eBand JS-8 – The Ultimate Jam-Along Companion for Guitarists

The Boss eBand JS-8  isn’t your standard “Multi Effects Pedal”, but very cool regardless. This is an idea that show’s Boss is really thinking about everyone, from the bedroom guitarist to the stage-hardened pro.

Some of the greatest features of this unit that set it apart from others are its ability to load music files and change the tempo and pitch to help learn new riffs and tunes, record your own tunes with a function to separate vocals from the guitar, and built in backing tracks.

Digitech RP1000

Digitech RP1000 – Great digital, or analog sound

The Digitech RP1000 multi effects pedal is packed with over 160 effects and 200 presets providing you with an amazing set of tones. With an integrated effects switching system, no longer will you have to do the pedal tap dance—just select your preset and your tone is engaged, just the way you like it.

The Digitech RP1000 features a built-in phrase looper with 20 seconds of recording time. Its most original function is the ability to route external effects pedals through it using the stompbox loop. This is great if you just cant live without your Tube Screamer, or RAT

Have you ever notice that some effects sound far better (or worse) after being positioned before or after the pre-amp? Digitech obviously noticed this too when they built the RP1000 and created the capability to split the amps preamp and power stages, allowing you to place effects before or after the preamp – wherever they sound best. Why buy a Multi Effects Pedal?

Like they always say, you get what you pay for. Except with a multi effects pedal, you get more.

Just saying “multi effects pedal” a few years ago would have got you thrown out of most bands, but oh, how times have changed. My first guitar multi effects pedal was the Zoom 505. Honestly, it was a piece of hissing, digital crap, but it made me realize the potential that lay there within its cheap, semi-transparent blue housing. Read more »
